Our First Scholarship Recipient, Juan Esquivel
In June 2004, Gonzales High School graduate Juan Esquivel received a $40,000 scholarship from Matsui Foundation. Juan graduated with a high GPA of 3.7 and SAT scores of Verbal 470 and Math 580, which are impressive, understanding that he began to learn English at the age of 15. He is from a family of 5 and will be a first-generation University student. He has been accepted into San Jose State University to study engineering.
